Developing an Effective Writing Programme - 25/01/2022

I think I learned a lot in this workshop. Well maybe not learned yet but I have a bunch of things to use in my writing program (which is still in progress). It has definitely eased my mind around the substance of writing programs. I look forward to implementing some of the ideas, strategies and activities that were demonstrated throughout the workshop.

Great day to meet others as anxious as myself about starting their journey into teaching. It was nice and relaxing. They gave different ideas about how to prepare for day one and week one, which were helpful to think about. I’m not going to lie, the best part was the lunch catered from Hazel Hayes - beautiful! Te Whai Toi Tangata Tauranga Workshop 2 - 07/04/2022

After the first workshop I was most looking forward to catching up with the other teachers. However that was short lived as we were told that the workshop has been moved on to Zoom 😢 (at least the lunch will be a heck of a lot better!).  This workshop provided some great information about changes in the curriculum and what we should be preparing ourselves for to put us in a good position when changes are implemented. I also enjoyed some of the math activities that I could take straight back to my class and use. We also discussed and did activities that focused on local curriculum. This is very relevant to us at the moment as we work towards our 150 celebration later in the year.
